Who is W Fitness?

W Fitness – Who Are We? 

We are a women’s only fitness studio located in Horsforth, Leeds. We are dedicated to providing a supportive and empowering environment for women to pursue their health and fitness goals. We distinguish ourselves from conventional gyms by providing personalised workout programmes, a specialised 30-minute circuit and a variety of classes tailored to women’s needs. 

Who are we? A gym that puts women first!

We are Caroline and Hannah – we shared a vision to address the unique challenges women face in traditional gym settings. We have both had first-hand experiences in the fitness industry that clearly highlighted the need for a more inclusive and supportive space for women, both in bigger gyms where many women felt overwhelmed and intimidated by the multitude of machines and lack of guidance and therefore resorted to using the familiar cardio equipment such as the treadmill, and also in smaller gyms where there wasn’t the variety of exercise. We felt that we could bridge the gap between the two and provide a space where women can exercise confidently, safely and positively with a great mix of strength training, cardio and classes.

We have created a space suitable for ladies at all stages of their life – from young first timers in the gym, to prenatal and post natal ladies (yes, you can bring your baby in a car seat with you to any session!) to retired ladies looking to keep mobile, independent and social!

Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive and fun environment where you can achieve your fitness goals without judgement or intimidation. We believe that every woman deserves to feel confident and empowered in her fitness journey, and we strive to provide the resources, guidance and community to make that possible.

What do we offer? A space designed for women, built for success!

We offer a specialised 30-minute circuit training programme designed to provide a full body workout, combining resistance machines for building muscle and toning, as well as cardio exercises to maximise fat loss. You will receive your own programme tailored to your fitness level, age and fitness goals, ensuring a customised experience that evolves with your progress. We review programmes regularly to keep your workout challenging, promoting continuous improvement and sustained motivation. In addition to the circuit, we also offer a variety of fitness classes including Zumba, HIIT workouts, Fitness yoga, Bodyblast, Stretch and Strengthen, Dancersize, Total Toning and many more giving you a great selection to choose from. For those of you who want individual attention, we offer personal training services. Our personal trainers work closely with you to develop programmes that align with your specific goals, whether that’s improving body composition, enhancing physical performance, or boosting overall health. Fitness goals are closely linked to nutrition, and we offer nutritional advice to our members, ensuring that members receive comprehensive support in achieving their health and fitness objectives.

Hannah Dudley – Co-founder and Director

Hannah is one half of the mother-daughter team that makes W Fitness. She loves to push our ladies to reach their goals, whilst ensuring they have fun!

Hannah started her fitness journey at 3 years old in a ballet class, which quickly became her passion; competing in competitions, performing at corporate events, teaching, and completing exams.

Aside from dance, Hannah loves skiing, her cats, spending time with family, and is a complete foodie (especially baking!)

FUN FACT: Hannah used to be a TV extra working on soaps like Emmerdale and Coronation Street, as well as BBC Drama’s like The Syndicate. In fact, working on Waterloo Road is where she met her Husband, Jonny!

Hannah brings her extensive experience in the fitness industry, including pre/post-natal fitness to create a welcoming and effective training environment.

Caroline Sheerin – Co-founder and Director

Caroline is the other half of our mother-daughter team! Always a friendly face, Caroline will ensure our lovely ladies get the results they deserve!

After having two children, Caroline restarted her fitness journey at the age of 50 after realising her energy levels had dropped, her fitness levels were low, and her health wasn’t where it should be. Caroline now loves helping other ladies achieve what she has – everyone deserves to be healthy and happy!

Aside from fitness, Caroline loves a beach holiday, spending time with family, and enjoying a cocktail with friends.

FUN FACT: Caroline has a secret daredevil side – not only has she ridden the highest Zipline in the World, but she’s also completed a solo skydive at just 18 years old!

Sheryl

Sheryl – Personal Trainer

Sheryl started out as a W Fitness member and jumped at the chance to work with us when we advertised for a Fitness Coach. Sheryl instantly became a part of the W Fitness Team and has completed her W Fitness Level 1 and 2 Coaching Certificate, as well as her W Fitness Level 3 Personal Trainer Qualification!

Sheryl is always on hand to help our ladies around the circuit, and we couldn’t be without her now!

Aside from working for us, Sheryl loves to bust a move and one of her favourite places to be is on the dancefloor!

FUN FACT: Sheryl can say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards just like Mary Poppins does in the movie!

Adela – Personal Trainer

When Adela joined our W Fitness Team, she became a perfect fit straight away with everyone loving her new classes! Adela has passed her Level 2 Gym Instructing Qualification as well as her Level 3 Personal Training Qualification.

Adela is a great motivator to anyone who needs it! She’s always friendly, approachable, and ready to help any members with their circuit programme, as well as being a fab class instructor ready to put you through your paces!

FUN FACT: Adela is an Ultra Distance Runner, going beyond a marathon!

Laura

Laura – Personal Trainer

Laura has always exercised, from dancing and running as a kid to enjoying the gym as an adult! She loved it that much she’s made helping others enjoy fitness her passion and career!

Laura is on hand to push you and help you reach your goals, not only on our 30-minute circuit, but in her strength classes and Pilates too!

Aside from working for us, Laura loves to cycle and walk, taking part in 50K charity events!

FUN FACT: Laura is always thinking about food at any given moment!

One of the key aspects that set W Fitness apart is our commitment to creating a supportive and non-judgemental environment. As a women-only fitness studio, we aim to make everyone feel comfortable and confident during their workouts. Our friendly personal trainers are always available to provide guidance, answer questions or simply have a chat, ensuring that all our members feel valued and supported. We believe in fostering a sense of community and promoting overall well-being beyond physical fitness. We are very focused on stress management, self-care and mental health well-being.
